What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathic medicine is a system that uses natural remedies to help the body heal itself. It embraces many therapies, including herbs, nutrition and nutraceuticals, lifestyle advice, flower essences and others depending on a practitioner’s modality.

The goal of naturopathy is to treat the whole person — that means mind, body, and spirit. It also aims to heal the root causes of an illness — not just stop the symptoms.

A good naturopath is like a detective, carefully piecing together clues from various aspects of your life to uncover the underlying factors contributing to your health issues.

Why See A Naturopath?

Holistic Approach: Because sometimes we need someone to treat our body like it’s a complex, interconnected ecosystem, not just a malfunctioning gadget in need of a quick fix.

Natural Remedies: Because sometimes we want to see if Mother Nature’s pantry has something better than our pharmaceutical options.

Preventive Care: Because choosing to wear rain boots before stepping into a puddle is better than having to dry your socks later and cheaper.

Individualized Treatment: Because one-size-fits-all solutions don’t work for most people – we are all different.

Complementary Medicine: Because naturopathy can complement conventional medical treatments, offering additional options for managing health conditions.

Focus on Root Causes: Because it makes sense to fix a leaky roof instead of placing buckets to catch the water. Sure, the buckets help temporarily, but unless you address the real issue, you’ll keep getting dripped on. Plus, who wants to live with a bucket collection in their living room?

Education and Empowerment: Because I want you to take an active role in your own healing process.

Chronic Conditions: Because modern medicine doesn’t offer treatments for certain conditions and that’s where naturopathy can step in and make a difference (depending on the case)

Functional Testing I Utilise

Screening tool for identifying mineral deficiencies, excesses, and imbalances

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a quantitative test that measures the mineral composition of hair, (precise to parts per million). It is a safe and non-invasive test that reflects the level of nutrients and toxic elements in body tissue.

Tool to evaluate gastrointestinal health

The well-being of the digestive system significantly influences overall health. The Microbiome Mapping test allows to see what is happening inside your gastrointestinal system. The test can show specific microbes that tend to disturb the normal balance of your microbiome and lead to digestive problems as well as other chronic health conditions.
